Our History
Midland Glass has been trading for more than 30 years under the ownership of husband and wife, Allan and Jane Cooper.
Starting with the manufacturing and supply of units to the trade industry and later UPVC windows, doors and conservatories, Midland Glass has steadily grown to be a well known and respected company in Derbyshire and surrounding counties.
In December 2005 the company moved to purpose built 10,000 square feet premises, a huge leap from its three 1,000 square feet units nearby. This new building was designed in part by Allan Cooper for the conditions required to store and manufacture soft coat low "e" units.
Building regulations in October of 2010 say that all fabricators must supply at least a C rated certificated window . We achieved a C -11 ( high level C ) rated Chamfered window and an A +7 rated Sculptured window to meet and surpass the requirement.
In May 2021 a decision was made to wind down the manufacturing and supply of windows, doors and conservatories. With business thriving, there was a need to focus operations on the core business - glass manufacturing. So to ensure the high standards of glass production were maintained and to expand the glass offering, the frames side of the business closed in August 2021.
