About Us

Midland Glass has been trading for more than 40 years. Originally under the ownership of husband and wife duo Allan and Jane Cooper, they retired from day to day office life in 2023 and son-in-law Phil Jones took up the reigns, supported by his wife Sarah. Phil now leads the company while Allan and Jane enjoy their grandkids and well deserved R&R in the sun!

Starting with the manufacturing and supply of units to the trade industry and later UPVC windows, doors and conservatories, Midland Glass has steadily grown to be a well known and respected company in Derbyshire and surrounding counties.

In December 2005 the company moved to purpose built 10,000 square feet premises, a huge leap from its three 1,000 square feet units nearby. This new building was designed in part by Allan for the conditions required to store and manufacture soft coat low "e" units.

However, in May 2021 and with the business going from strength to strength, in a bid to cement ourselves as the market leader in glass and insulated units, a decision was made to sell the manufacturing and supply of doors and conservatories, with a need to focus operations on the core business - glass manufacturing. The frames side of the business closed in August 2021.

In recent years we have lead the market in quality, service and value - continuing to employ 20 local people, who combine to make all our products by hand and resisting the urge to automate the process and mass produce units at scale which many manufacturers, sadly, now choose to do.
